Bloomington based Soft Spoken covers a lot of musical territory: jazz, funk, R&B, soul and blues with the smooth jazz filter set on high.

Their sophisticated sound is due to some amazing players: Gary Muhammad on lead guitar/vocals, Mike Gardner on keys and bass and vocals, Myra Johnson on percussion, AJ Chinnery on drums, Kenny Johnson on bass guitar and Jamika Russell on lead vocals. The ever-popular CIJS House Band under the leadership of Larry Harms kicks off the evening, featuring outstanding jazz musicians from the area. They present a variety of jazz standards and other popular arrangements. Always a delight!
